A delegation from the Embassy of France, led by Julien DEUR, Head of the Economic Department along with Yann Riegel, Associate – Economics Department, recently met with Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Chief Executive Officer (Secretary)of the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) of Bangladesh.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for French investments in Bangladesh, particularly in the renewable energy and water sectors. The delegation expressed strong interest in fostering collaboration through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) with an emphasis on government-to-government (G2G) cooperation, says a press release.
Muhammad Rafiqul Islam assured the delegation of his full support and commitment to facilitating these investments, highlighting Bangladesh’s welcoming stance toward foreign investors. He emphasized that the PPPA remains dedicated to leveraging PPPs to drive sustainable development and create meaningful opportunities in key sectors like energy and water.
The meeting underscored the mutual desire to strengthen bilateral ties and advance projects that can contribute to Bangladesh’s long-term growth and environmental sustainability. CEO reaffirmed that, he will do his best to turn these discussions into actionable plans, ensuring a fruitful collaboration between Bangladesh and France.
