The Eliminator phase and the 1st Qualifier of Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket will be held today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur.
Rangpur Riders will take on Khulna Tigers in the Eliminator phase, which will start at 1:30pm, while Fortune Barishal will face Chittagong Kings in the 1st Qualifier, which will begin at 6:30pm.
Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the matches live. Tamim Iqbal will lead Fortune Barishal as the Captain, while Mohammad Mithun will lead the Chittagong Kings.
On the other hand, Nurul Hasan will lead Rangpur Riders, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead Khulna Tigers.
The losing team of the Eliminator phase will be ousted from the tournament, while the winning team of the Eliminator phase will face the losing team of the 1st Qualifier. It will be the 2nd Qualifier phase. The winning team of the 1st Qualifier will reach the final of the cricket meet.
On the other hand, the winning team of the 2nd Qualifier will play in the final. The 2nd Qualifier will take place at the same venue on February 5. The game will start at 6:30pm. The final will be held at the same venue on February 7. The gala final will start at 7:00pm.
Reigning champions Fortune Barishal took the top spot of the points table grabbing 18 points from 12 matches. Chittagong Kings took the second spot gaining 16 points from 12 games.
Rangpur Riders took the third position collecting 16 points from 12 outings. Chittagong Kings and Rangpur Riders gained 16 points each, but by virtue of better run rate, Chittagong Kings took the second position.
Khulna Tigers and Durbar Rajshahi earned 12 points each from 12 matches. But by virtue of better run rate, Khulna Tigers took the fourth position. On the other hand, Durbar Rajshahi bade the 11rh edition of BPL Cricket Good-bye after holding their head high.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim of Dhaka Capitals is the highest run scorer with 485 runs. His strike rate is 141.39. Mohammad Naim of Khulna Tigers is the second highest run getter with 444 runs. His strike rate is 148.00.
Anamul Haque of Durbar Rajshahi is the third highest run scorer with 392. His strike rate is 130.66. Taskin Ahmed of Durbar Rajshahi is the highest wicket taker with 25 wickets. His average is 12.04.
Faheem Ashraf of Fortune Barishal is the second highest wicket taker with 20 wickets. His average is 13.90. Akif Javed of Rangpur Riders is the third highest wicket taker with 19 wickets. His average is 14.00.
