NN Report:
The Bangladesh Administrative Service Association has stated that recent remarks made by former secretary A.B.M. Abdus Sattar about the advisers of the interim government are his personal opinion and not endorsed by the organization.
On 8 August, at a seminar titled “Expectations from the July Uprising and the Future of Public Administration” held at the BIAM Auditorium in the capital, Sattar—also the General Secretary of the Officers’ Club—made comments about the eight advisers of the interim government.
In a press statement issued on Sunday (10 August), the association clarified, “The remarks in question are entirely his personal views. The Bangladesh Administrative Service Association in no way supports them.”
The statement further said, “We firmly believe that under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Adviser, the advisers of the interim government are carrying out their duties with honesty, dedication, sincerity, and patriotism. Members of the association remain fully committed to implementing all government activities with complete trust and responsibility.”
The statement was jointly signed by the association’s General Secretary, Sharaf Uddin Ahmad Chowdhury, and President, Md. Nazrul Islam.
