Former Member of Parliament for Cox’s Bazar-4 (Ukhia-Teknaf) Constituency Abdur Rahman Badi has been transferred to Chattagram Central Jail. He was brought to Chattagram from Cox’s Bazar under heavy police guard on Friday (September 6) night. He was arrested by RAB-7 from GEC Mor area of Chattagram on August 21 in a case of attempted murder in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf. Later, when he was taken to Cox’s Bazar court, Senior Judicial Magistrate Hamimun Tamjid’s court sent him to jail. Chattagram Central Jail Deputy District Sumaiya Khatun said Abdur Rahman Badi has been transferred to Chattagram Jail for security reasons. There is an ACC case in his name in the Chattagarm court. On August 18, upazila BNP leader Mohammad Abdullah filed a case against 20 people, including Badi, on charges of attempted murder in Teknaf Municipality’s KK Para area. He was arrested in that case.
In the 11th and 12th National Parliament elections, his wife Shaheen Aktar was elected as a Member of Parliament for two terms instead of Badi.
