Former minister Nanak accused of using police

Jahangir Kabir Nanak, a presidium member of Awami Leagueand former Minister of Textiles and Jute, and his father Bazlur Rahman Sanyamat have been accused of using the police to make his opponent as defendant in the arms-robbery-narcotics cases.
Kamrul Islam Hiran, Harun Akbar and Nehar Begum on behalf of the affected people raised these allegations in a press conference held at Barishal Reporters Unity (BRU) on Tuesday (September 3) noon calling for free fair speedy trial.
Kamrul Islam Hiran reading the written statement said, they have been living together since long years with their family members on the land owned by themselves.
The residences enjoying electricity supply, paying taxes to Barishal City Corporation.
Bazlur Rahman Sanyamat was the clerk of Barisal Collectorate office and late father of Awami League leader Nanak.
After the death of Zulmat Ali, Nanak’s father engaged in an attempt to grab the land in his name by creating a ‘fake degree’.
Zulmat Ali Khan at the time of of his death had only wife, 2 minor sons and 1 daughter.
After the death of Bazlur Rahman, all these activities were continued by powerful AL leader Nanak and his brother Nasir Ahmed Litu.
Although several cases were filed on both sides regarding the land, but the legal dispute could not be resolved due to the influence of political power of Nanak.
The sad thing is – even though after death of Barek Howladar, he could not be buried in the family graveyard as barred by the followers Nanak .
