Foreign investors keen to invest in the Bangladeshi’s RMG, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and light engineering sectors enhance the economic growth as well as change the world.
The main focus of the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 is giving the esteemed concept about Bangladesh to the foreign delegation so that they can give conception to their friends for investing in Bangladesh, said Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
We are taking the investor to the investment place for keening investment here, visiting the investment place some are ensuring their investment here like Handa Industries Limited, he added.
Handa Industries Limited, a renowned china-based apparel manufacturing company for the production of superior-quality knitted textiles, dyeing processes, and apparel on a global scale, will invest US150 million in Bangladesh.
They will invest $100 million in textile and dying sectors under economic zone and $50 million in garments industry under export processing zone.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Ministry of Commerce, International Labour Organization (ILO), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) inked Letter of Intent (LoI) for promoting trade and investment for sustainable and inclusive growth.
Under this Lol, BIDA, Ministry of Commerce, ILO and UNDP have become as the “partners” or “parties” agree to develop a trade and investment ecosystem for sustainable and inclusive growth.
They will develop communities of practice to promote knowledge sharing and capacity building amongst public and private stakeholders.
Under the ILO partner Bangladesh will try to develop the labor right because without ensuring labor right it is impossible to keen to the good investors.
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus urged the global investors to come up with their business in Bangladesh sought greater collaboration from the ambassador of UK USA, Trade Envoy and the representative of the various country to change the world.
During a meeting with Baroness Rosie Winterton, Yunus urged the UK Trade Envoy to Bangladesh, at the State Guest House Jamuna sought greater collaboration with Bangladesh’s healthcare system.
Kihak Sung, Chairman of Youngone Corporation and a pioneer in Bangladesh’s readymade garments (RMG) and textile sectors, who first came to the country in the mid-1990s, was honoured with honorary citizenship on Wednesday for his outstanding contributions to the industry and Bangladesh economy.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) honored Fabric Lagbe Ltd (innovation category), bkash (foreign investment category), as its more than 50 percent of shares from foreign stockholders, Square Pharmaceutical (local company) and Walton have awarded Excellence in Investment Award-2025′ for their significant contribution to the country’s economy and attracting foreign direct investment.
The Chief Adviser handed over the awards. The Excellence in Investment Award will continue in the future to attract investment in building the nation.
