Foreign Adviser reiterates commitment to impartial probe at 50th OIC Council

Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain reaffirmed the Government’s commitment, under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, to pursue an impartial and internationally credible investigation into the massacre and ensure subsequent judicial processes are duly conducted.

He made this statement while addressing the 50th Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 29th to 30th August. Bangladesh’s Envoy to Algeria and a Senior Official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting, according to the Foreign Ministry’s statement on Saturday.

This year’s CFM focused on the theme “Intra OIC Transportation and Communication Infrastructure,” covering a range of political, economic, social, cultural, and security issues. Among the resolutions adopted was one titled “Situation of the Rohingya Muslim Community in Myanmar,” which was unanimously agreed upon to maintain continuous pressure on Myanmar authorities.

During his speech at the CFM, the Foreign Adviser highlighted the series of events leading to the second revolution through a mass uprising led by valiant students in Bangladesh.
