Football tournament held in Shahzadpur

The Former Deputy Prime Minister Professor Dr. M.A. Matin Memorial Football Tournament was held at the traditional Garadaha Football Field in Shahzadpur Upazila of Sirajganj on Friday.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Alhaj Md. Abdul Jabbar, former Senior Vice President of Shahzadpur Upazila BNP and former Chairman of Garadaha Union Parishad.

The chief guest of the event was Dr. M.A. Matin’s esteemed son, Sirajganj District BNP Chief and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) nomination aspirant for the Shahzadpur constituency, Professor Dr. M.A. Muhit.

Special guests included the former president of Upazila BNP, Iqbal Hossain Hiru; former general secretary Arifuzzaman Arif; general secretary of Shahzadpur Press Club, Al-Amin Hossain; former president of Garadaha Union BNP, Afsar Ali; general secretary Abdul Matin; and headmaster of Talgachi Abu Ishaq High School, Parvez Akhter.

The football match was contested between Kushtia and Gaibandha. Gaibandha Football XI defeated Kushtia 3-1 to claim victory.

Before the start of the game, students from various educational institutions performed displays and dances. After the match, the organising committee presented the award to the Man of the Match.
