Chattogram Bureau :
Incessant rains and floods in 15 upazilas and parts of the city of Chattogram district have caused damage of around Tk 394 crore. Chittagong District Agriculture Extension Directorate has given the information about the damage. According to the information, 1 lakh 53 thousand 103 hectares of land has been damaged in Chattogram agricultural region. Crops have been damaged more in Mirsarai, Fatikchari, Raozan, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Satkania, Banshkhali and Chandnaish upazilas of the district. In these upazilas, 1 thousand 922 hectares of vegetable gardens have been submerged in flood water. The lands of Aush and Aman have been damaged. Ropa Aman suffered a loss of Tk 251 crore 63 lakh.
Aman has been cultivated on 1 lakh 2 thousand hectares of land in Chattogram district. Among them, 43 thousand 500 hectares of land has been submerged in flood. 1 lakh 555 hectares of seedbeds of Aman have been damaged. 8 thousand 383 hectares of 33 thousand 1 hectares of land in the district has been destroyed.
