Bangladesh has further strengthened its global leadership in green apparel manufacturing as five more garment factories have received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the US Green Building Council.
With these additions, the country now has 268 LEED-certified garment factories, the highest in the world. Of them, 114 have Platinum, 135 Gold, 15 Silver, and 4 Certified ratings.
The newly recognized factories include Pakiza Knit Composite Ltd, Fashion Pulse Ltd, and GAVA Pvt Ltd, which earned Platinum status, while Visual Knitwears Ltd and Talisman Performance Ltd received Gold certification.
According to the BGMEA, Bangladesh now hosts 68 of the world’s top 100 LEED-certified garment factories, reflecting the industry’s strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Industry leaders said the achievement would further enhance Bangladesh’s image as a responsible sourcing destination for global buyers, while also promoting energy efficiency and long-term competitiveness in the RMG sector.
