Fish farm looted in Mongla

Fish worth Taka more than one lakh was looted from a fish farm at Pakkhali area within Makordon village under Mongla Upazils in Bagerhat district after beating the owner of the fish farm on Wednesday (Jan. 01) and looted fish worth Taka more than one lakh, according to a delayed report received here.
In this connection Tahabur Mallik, owner of the fish farm lodged a written complaint with Mongla PS. It is stated in the written complaint that Tahabur Mallik cultivated fish on a plot of lands measuring some 08 acres after taking out the lease of the land from its owner Nivendra Nath Dhali of Pakkhali area of Mokordon village. On the day of occurrence at noon some 10/12 miscreants led by one Babul Shaikh hails from the same village attacked Tahabur Mallik, took over the possession of the fish farm and looted fish worth Taka more than one lakh.
Accused Babul Shaikh claimed that he is the real owner of the plot of the lands where Tabur Mallik had been cultivating fish illegally for years together.
He added, I neither attack him nor loot fish from the fish farm. Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-charge, Mongla PS told, in this connection I received a a written complaint and necessary action will be taken after investing into the matter.
