Farmer Elan Mia of Kendua has succeeded in ground nut cultivation for the first time. He is making twice as much profit from almond cultivation as he is from paddy cultivation. Seeing this situation, other farmers are also joining almond cultivation.

It is known that farmer Elan Mia of Raghabpur village of Kandiura union of the upazila cultivated almonds instead of paddy on 40 percent of his land for the first time this year. And for the first time, he has succeeded by making twice as much profit as paddy. He has decided to cultivate on 90 percent of his land in the future. Many people in the area have become interested in almond cultivation due to his success.

Farmer Elan Mia said – I cultivate almonds on 40 percent of my land with a narrow mind. But Alhamdulillah, the yield is much higher than that of paddy. If God allows, I will cultivate almonds on 90 percent of my land in the future. Almond cultivation costs less. Fertilizers and pesticides are not used much. But the profit is high.

In addition, after harvesting the almonds, the trees can also be dried and used as fuel. Sohel Mia, a farmer from the same village, said – Several farmers in our village have benefited from almond cultivation. So I have also decided to cultivate almonds in the future.
