For the first time in Bangladesh, a state-of-the-art hydrographic survey vessel is being constructed under a private initiative. On Thursday (March 20), the keel-laying ceremony for the hydrographic survey boat, developed by Celestial Tech Limited in collaboration with Bay-Tech Ship Builders Limited, took place at Langolbond in Bandar Upazila, Narayanganj.
This new vessel will play a crucial role in enhancing maritime navigation, coastal management, and underwater mapping operations. Equipped with advanced survey technology, it will help ensure safe and efficient marine activities.
Celestial Tech Limited, a leading company in maritime and industrial technology solutions, is partnering with Bay-Tech Ship Builders Limited to construct this modern hydrographic survey boat. Shahin Kabir, CEO of Celestial Tech Limited, stated that the new vessel will significantly enhance Bangladesh’s hydrographic survey capabilities and contribute to the country’s maritime development. The construction is expected to be completed within six months, after which the vessel will be fully operational.
The keel-laying ceremony was attended by senior officials from both companies, including Mohammad Tajul Islam, the owner of Bay-Tech Ship Builders Limited, along with other key personnel involved in the project.
