Md. Firoz Alamgir, the chief coordinator of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) Joypurhat district branch, has resigned from his post. He announced his resignation in a letter to the Jatiya Nagorik Party convener/member secretary on Sunday (October 13).
In the letter, Firoz Alamgir mentioned, “I believe that the party’s various activities, decisions and positions in recent times are in conflict with the ideology of the revolution. Also, the policy you are supporting or supporting regarding the inclusion of identified Awami leaders and activists in the party is contrary to my personal ideology and values. Which has disappointed me. I had hoped that after a revolution, the NCP would bring a new style of politics, but at present, the NCP has adopted traditional political policies. Which has shocked me.”
He further mentioned in his resignation letter, “I hope that the NCP will try to understand the families of the martyrs and the injured in the past movement. It will try to listen carefully to what they wanted and what kind of country they want to see. It will avoid the mentality of running the party only according to the decisions of the central leaders and will work based on the suggestions of the injured in the movement and the public opinion at the district level.”
Firoz Alamgir mentioned in his resignation letter, “Currently, I am no longer able to remain associated with the activities of the NCP and am resigning from all activities of the NCP.”
