Fire guts 4 betel leaf orchards in Jhenaidah

A devastating fire gutted betel leafs on two bighas of land at Balarampur village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Wednesday noon.
The damage by the fire was primarily estimated for Taka 10 lakh. Fire from a left porting of burnt bidi or cigarette might cause the firm suspected the fire fighters in Kaliganj.
Locals said, they had witnessed the fire in the noon on the betel leaf orchards of Isahaque, Isharat, Abdus Sabur and Buddhiswar and informed the local fire service and civil defense station at Kaliganj.
The fire fighters from the station rushed there and started estinguishing fire which was under control after an hour long drive by the fire fighters and locals.
Affected betel leaf orchard owner Isahaque and Isharat when contacted said, they could not suspect any one considering it as sabotage.
