A fire broke out at Kathalbagan slum in Kalabagan area of the capital on Thursday night.
Six firefighting units are working to douse the fire, said Mahfuz, a duty officer at the fire service headquarters.
He said several small tin sheds houses of the Kathalbagan slum area caught on fire. The fire broke out around 9:30 pm. Upon receiving the news, six units of the fire servicemen have been sent to the spot. The fire is not yet under control.
Initially, the cause of the fire and the information of casualties could not be known.
