The primary report of the high-level investigation committee into the severe fire at the secretariat is now set to be submitted to the chief adviser on Tuesday after a delay from the original deadline of Monday.
Home Affairs Ministry Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani confirmed the matter to the media that the primary investigation report on the fire will be submitted on Tuesday. He also mentioned that samples collected from the scene would be sent abroad for further testing.
On Wednesday night, a fire broke out in Building No 7 of the secretariat, damaging the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors. In response, the government formed an 8-member high-level investigation committee, led by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nasimul Gani, on Thursday. The committee has been instructed to determine the cause and origin of the fire and submit a preliminary report within three days.
