Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), stated that financial irregularities can severely undermine the backbone of all development. She made these remarks during the inauguration of a day-long training program on PPA 2006 and PPR 2008, held at the IERD auditorium of BCSIR on Saturday.
During the event, Dr. Ahmed emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in government procurement to the attending scientists, officials, and trainees.
The training was organized under the overall supervision of Roknuzzaman, Member (Finance) and Joint Secretary of BCSIR. Chief Trainer Mohammad Sayemur Rashid Khan, Deputy Secretary (Development-1) of the Ministry of Shipping and an expert on PPR, conducted various sessions throughout the day.
Additionally, Mahbub Hasan Khan, Director (Finance and Accounts) of BCSIR, provided practical insights and engaged the trainees with relevant questions related to PPA 2006 and PPR 2008, facilitating a deeper understanding of these important frameworks.
