‘Films introduce nation in international world’

Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Shamsul Huq Tuku has recalled the role of the film industries and said the films have introduced the country in the international world in a new way.

“The motion picture is one of the important mediums of retaining history, tradition and culture of a nation”, he said while addressing a discussion titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh,’ at the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bhaban (IDEB) in Dhaka on the eighth instant.

Recalling the role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the deputy speaker said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had taken various initiatives to institutionalize the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), reports BSS.

Huq said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also now working to take the film industries ahead.

Talking on the role of Bangabandhu, Tuku said Bangladesh became independent based on the language and culture of the land along with vibrant leadership of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Language, healthy cultural heritage and enrichment of education are very much essential for a nation”, the deputy speaker told the function which was jointly organized by private television channel ATN Bangla and daily’ Dainik Sangbad Protidhin’.

Legendary film director, producer and actor Quazi Hayat, composer and music director Shawkat Ali Imon, film actress Shahnoor and Suchanda, Kona Reza, Rina Khan, Singer Dinat Jahan Munni and other media personalities, were present at the function.
