Film Artistes’ Assoc starts ‘People for People’ campaign

Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association has started collecting funds for the treatment of students injured in the anti-discrimination movement and for the flood victims.
This activity of film artistes started at the Association’s office from yesterday under the banner of ‘People for People’ (Manush Manusher Jonnyo). Anyone can participate with cash or any kind of support according to their ability. Organising Secretary of Film Artistes’ Association Joy Chowdhury told this correspondent, “At any time of adversity in the country, the Film Artistes’ Association stood by the people. Come forward this time from that effort. Many were injured in the anti-discrimination student movement. At the same time, many people are living miserable life due to flood. Our initiative is for them ‘People for People’. Try to be next to whoever is capable.”
Vice President of Film Artistes’ Association DA Tayed said, “Artistes always come forward in any disaster. This time many people came forward personally. This initiative of ours is for the purpose of collective cooperation. Many are injured in the anti-discrimination student movement and are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Many people have been displaced from their homes in the flood-hit areas, and many are spending days without food. This initiative is to stand by them.”
