Fiction writer Shammi Tultul honored with ‘Women

Renowned fiction writer and novelist Shammi Tultul, popularly known as ‘Chattala Koinna,’ has been awarded the Women Power Leadership Award 2025 in the field of literature.

The honor was conferred by Smart Entrepreneur Forum, a non-political and social organization, during a ceremony marking International Women’s Day at the World Literature Center.

The event, themed “Women’s Participation in Economic Development,” featured a discussion, the award ceremony, and a cultural program.

Justice Mohammad Zainul Abedin of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court attended as the chief guest, while the inauguration was conducted by Dr. Professor Anisuzzaman. Cultural figure Peerzada Shahidul Harun delivered the keynote speech.

The event also hosted several distinguished guests, including vice-chancellors, government officials, business leaders, social activists, and media professionals.

Shammi Tultul was recognized for her remarkable contributions to literature and received a certificate, a shawl (Uttorio), and an e-magazine publication as part of the award. She expressed her gratitude, stating, “Every achievement is a moment of happiness. This new honor in 2025 adds to my previous accomplishments.”

Tultul, who has been writing since childhood, has gained popularity across both Bengals (Bangladesh and West Bengal, India). Her works have been widely published in national and international newspapers, earning her multiple accolades.

To date, she has authored 16 books, which are available on major online platforms in Bangladesh. Many of her interviews and book promotions have been featured in leading media outlets.

As a proud daughter of Chattogram, Shammi Tultul has carved a niche for herself in the literary world, gaining international recognition for her impactful storytelling.
