Felani’s father returns after testifying in Indian court

Father of Felani, who was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) members while she was crossing the barbed-wire fences along Anantapur border point in the district on
January 7, 2011, has returned from India through Burimari land port in Lalmonirhat district after testifying in the review trial of her killing at a BSF court.
Nurul Islam, father of Felani, along with Kurigram 45 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) acting director Major ATM Hedayetul Islam and district public prosecutor Abraham Linkon, returned at about 12:00 am on Monday.
Public prosecutor Abraham Linkon said a five-member bench of judges of the General Security Force Court at BSF Sector headquarters in Koch Bihar of India recorded statement of Nurul Islam from 10am to 4pm.
BSF’s Constable Amiya Ghosh, the only accused in the killing, was also present in the court.
