Selim Haider, one of the founding members and guitarist of the popular band Feedback, has passed away.
He breathed his last at around 10:00pm on November 27, while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
Feedback confirmed his death through a post on social media yesterday.
It was learned that Selim Haider had been suffering from cancer and several other health complications.
Foad Nasser Babu, another founding member of Feedback, said that his funeral prayer was held on Friday after Jumu’ah at the Hatirpool Pukurpar Jame Mosque in the capital.
Before forming Feedback, Selim Haider’s first band was ‘Sannyasi’, where renowned singer Sheikh Ishtiaq was the vocalist.
He later played lead guitar for Feedback and for Maksud O Dhaka. Most recently, he was part of the bands ‘Ullash’ and ‘Selim Haider & Friends’.
Among his compositions, two of Feedback’s popular songs are ‘Aydin Chirodin Robe’ and ‘Oy Dur Theke Dure’.
The guitarist, who played on countless tracks, also collaborated with renowned artiste Runa Laila.
Although primarily a lead guitarist, he was also skilled in bass, rhythm and keyboard.
