Manikganj Correspondent :

Father Arshed Ali (65) was beaten to death by his two sons and niece with a hammer for donating land to the mosque at Ukiara area of Sadar Upazila on Sunday.
In this incident, the police arrested the younger son Khorshed Alam and sister-in-law Ahad. Eldest son Khabir is fled away.
It is known that for a long time, Arshed Ali was having trouble with his sons over land registration.
Recently, when 10 percent of the land was written in the name of the mosque, the dispute between father Arshed Ali and his sons reached an extreme. The local people try to reconcile the matter, but the boys remain angry with the father.
Based on this incident, two sons and grandson (younger daughter’s son) called him from home this morning to a secluded place nearby and beat him to death with an iron hammer.
The elder son Khabir ran away when the surrounding people came forward on the screams of the injured Arshed Ali. At that time, the younger son Khorshed Alam and grandson Ahad were detained by the locals.
Local residents expressed their anger over this brutal incident and demanded maximum punishment for the accused.
In this incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadar Circle Kamrul Islam visited the spot. He told the reporters that the killing was due to a land dispute. Two of the accused have been arrested and efforts are on to arrest the elder son of the remaining victim.
