A day-long farmers’ gathering and agricultural field service program was held on Saturday at the playground of Hugra Habib Kader High School in Tangail Sadar Upazila.

The campaign began with livestock vaccination and was officially inaugurated by BNP’s Publicity Secretary, Alhaj Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, who attended the event as the chief guest.

Throughout the day, farmers from different areas received free veterinary treatment and vaccinations for their livestock. Additionally, one thousand farmers were provided with special agricultural cards containing guidance on increasing productivity of crops, fish, and livestock through climate-adaptive and modern farming methods.

Separate booths were set up to offer services related to livestock, agriculture, and fisheries. Veterinary doctors and agricultural experts provided consultations, distributed seeds, and handed out free medicines.

A discussion session was later held where speakers emphasized the importance of agricultural development, modern technology adoption, and the protection of farmers’ rights.
In his address, Chief Guest Sultan Salahuddin Tuku stated:
“Under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee amid a people-student movement. Those who now say no election without the PR system—people will not accept that.”
He added, “The future Bangladesh will be a democratic one, where people will elect their representatives through voting.”

Presided over by Agriculturist Alhaj Md. Asaduzzaman, the event was also attended by:
Agriculturist Md. Noakherul Islam, former District BNP Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, Sadar Upazila BNP President Azgar Ali, Tangail District Jubo Dal Convener Khandaker Rashedul Alam, Agriculturist Dr. Md. Imran Hasan Lincoln, local public representatives, and farmer leaders.

The event was hosted by Agriculturist Dr. Md. Ataur Rahman Sohag.
At the end of the program, fruit saplings, grass seedlings, and various types of seeds were distributed among farmers.

The event was part of the grassroots implementation of points 27 and 29 of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point national reform agenda.
Leaders of Agriculturist Tangail Sadar pledged to improve future programs based on the learnings from this experience.
