Sylhet Bureau :
Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Sylhet Region, Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain said that the demand for edible oil in the country and the import costs must be reduced by expanding and increasing production of oil crops. As per the instructions of the current government, the production of oil crops in the country has increased many times. By including modern varieties of short-term rice and oil crops from various research institutions during crop planning and increasing the cultivation of oil crops (mustard, sesame, sunflower, peanut, soybean) as additional crops without reducing the production of rice, it will be possible to meet this demand. Therefore, there is no alternative to increasing the cultivation of oil crops by increasing the campaign.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the award distribution ceremony of the oilseed crop production increase project organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension Sylhet at the conference room of the Deputy Director of DAE at Khamarbari in Dhopadighir par inthe city, on Wednesday afternoon.
The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Sylhet, Mostafa Iqbal Azad,
