Entertainment Report :
Popular actress of the small screen Tasnia Farin didn’t act in the movie ‘Projapoti 2’ with Dev due to not getting a visa. The actress was a little disappointed after losing that opportunity.
However, another opportunity has come. There has been talk of acting in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s new movie for a long time. Chanchal Chowdhury is also expected to be in it.
Farin went to Kolkata to talk to the director about that movie. This time there were no more visa complications.
Farin also appeared with Chanchal and Aniruddha at the premiere of Koel Mallick’s ‘Swarthopor’ in Kolkata. She is roaming around Kolkata. She is also giving interviews to the media.
Farin is not usually seen talking about the internal issues of the industry in the country.
However, in an interview given to Anandabazar Patrika, she opened up about the discrimination between men and women in the entertainment industry.
Tasnia Farin said, “My struggle or journey was very difficult. We had to go a long way to increase our salary by one taka.
However, a new hero increased his salary after doing two films. His demand was also accepted. There is also the issue of working hours.
So, where do we move forward? Even in women-centric films, the heroine is confined to certain boundaries, clichés – either women’s oppression, or women’s rights.
No one wants to take us beyond that. There are no films about women’s work, their struggle.
However, if that film does not do well, then the blame is placed on the fact that it was a women-centric film.
You are not giving that budget to women-centric films. You are not giving a story that can be a hit. But in the case of men, there is no shortage of these.”
Farin also talked about marriage. There was a time when it was believed that a heroine’s career ended once she got married. That situation has changed a lot now.
The actress said, “Acting really has no conflict with marriage. Why should there be a specific age at which a heroine should get married? I will decide what the right time is for me.
I see that my work has increased after marriage. Starting from Hollywood to our country, no one bothers about the marriage of heroines anymore.”
Although she gained recognition through TV dramas, Farin has been largely absent from the small screen lately.
She said that she has focused on the big screen because she is not getting the character she wants in dramas.
Tasnia Farin said, “When I worked on the small screen, I didn’t get any film offers that were worth accepting. When I worked on Atanu Ghosh’s film ‘Aro Ek Prithibhi’, I still acted on the small screen.
What has happened now, there is nothing new to discover on the small screen. The big screen can satisfy that hunger. That is why I want to see myself on the big screens of both countries.
I am in touch with everyone. Opportunities are also coming my way. That does not mean that I will not act on the small screen anymore. That medium is what made me Tasnia Farin.”
