Helper of a truck was killed on the spot and its driver was injured when the truck lost its control and dashed a covered van that was standing on Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Kakdanga under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district violently from its (covered van) behind on Sunday (May 12) in the early morning (at 5 am), according to a report received here.
Killed helper was identified as Raich Kazi (22), son of one Malam Kazi hails from the village Barabhabanipur under Sadar Upazila in Rajbari district and injured driver was identified as Md. Aziz (55), son of one Arshad Ali Khan hails from the village Maharajpur in the same district. Shaikh Nuruzzaman, Officer-in-charge of Mollahat Highway PS in Bagerhat district told, on Sunday morning (at 5 am) the truck laden with gas cylinders bound for Dhaka when reached Kakdanga (place of occurrence) lost its control and hit the covered van standing there forcefully from its behind. As a result, helper of the truck was killed on the spot and the driver was injured. The driver was recovered from there and admitted to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex for his treatment, The dead body of the helper was handed over to the family members after the completion of legal proceedings, added the Officer.
