Teachers and students of the Baliadanga Government Primary School in Fakirhat Upazila under Bagerhat district formed a human chain to protest the sexual assault on a fourth-grade student (9) and demand punishment for the sexual assaulter.
The protest was held in front of Baliadanga Government Primary School on Thursday .
The teachers and students present strongly condemned and protested the incident. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused and exemplary punishment.
The acting headmaster of the school, Molla Aslam Maha, along with various teachers and students, participated in the protest.
The child’s family and teachers said that on July 14, around 7-30 pm, a man named Md. Faisal (42) tried to rape the child student in his house under Bagerhat Sadar’s Karakhali.
When the child fell ill, the family members quickly brought him to the Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex. From there she was referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital for advanced and better treatment.
In this connection father of the victim lodged a case with Bagerhat Sadar Model PS on July 16 under the Women and Children Repression Act. However, the accused Md. Faisal is absconding after the incident.
