An operation in the Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhiya Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, led to the seizure of over two lakh counterfeit bandroll Akij Bidi. The raid was conducted on Friday at around 12:30 PM.
According to locals, a dishonest syndicate has been producing counterfeit Akij Bidi for a long time, evading significant government revenue.
These fake products are then stored and marketed in Cox’s Bazar and other parts of the country. Acting on a tip-off, an operation was carried out in the Kutupalong Rohingya camp on Friday, leading to the seizure of 2,20,000 counterfeit bandroll Akij Bidi sticks.
