A two-day International Workshop on Multifaith Dialogue (IWOMD 2025) concluded at the Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building auditorium, Dhaka University on Tuesday (February 11), reaffirming the need for an inclusive society where people of all faiths coexist in harmony.

Speaking at the closing session, Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain, Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, emphasised that a nation thrives when diversity is embraced. “Just as a garden flourishes with flowers of different colors and fragrances, a nation prospers through the peaceful coexistence of people from diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding civic rights, including political freedom, freedom of expressionand religious liberty.

The workshop, hosted at the Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building auditorium, brought together religious leaders, academics, and policymakers from various backgrounds.

Representatives from Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam underscored the shared humanity of all religious adherents, emphasizing their collective responsibility toward global peace and compassion.

Despite historical attempts to divide communities, Bangladesh has maintained a legacy of cultural and religious harmony, participants noted.
