FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Pirojpur emerged unbeaten champion in the Azimuddin Bhuiyan Trust 33rd National Sub-Junior (Under-16 Years) Chess Championship that concluded on Sunday at the Chess Federation hall-room of National Sports Council Old Building.
Fahad bagged 6.5 points to clinch the title. This is the second occasion title for Fahad after he became sub-junior champion in 2011.
Subrata Biswas of Mymensing finished runner-up with 5.5 points.
Tanzina Akter Tani of Dhaka city emerged champion in Girls’ section with 5.5 points and Jannatul Ferdous of Ideal Primary School became runner-up with 5 points.
Other position of Boys section: 3rd-Akib Jawad of Chittagon 5.5 points, 4th-M Rafshan Bin Omor (Subin) of Zalokathi points-5, 5th- Anata Chowdhury points-5, 6th-Nur Newaz Oyon of Nator points-5, 7th-Mir Ahanab Kabya of Chittagong points-5, 8th-Tahsin
Mahmud of Chittagong points-5, 9th-Kanchan Gharami of Rajshahi points-4.5 and 10th-Abdullah Al Sharhan Saikot of Chittagong points- points- 4.5.
Other places of girls’ section: 3rd- Fatematuzzohora Sraboni of Narayan points-5, 4th-Nushrat Jahan Nafisa of Narayanganj points-4 and 5th-Fardina Hossain Arena points-3.
