Exam suspended over question paper leak

Thakurgaon Correspondent :

During the ongoing 2014 B.Ed and B.Ed (Honours) examinations under Bangladesh Open University (BAU), allegations surfaced of a question paper leak during the English examination held at Pirganj Union Degree College in Thakurgaon.

This was reported in national dailies on 26 and 27 September. The matter has drawn serious attention from the BAU authorities.

Upon initial investigation, evidence was found that the English exam question paper had been leaked and distributed among examinees, which is a clear violation of the examination code of conduct. For this reason, the examination was declared void.

The BAU authorities have taken the following decisions in this regard:
The English examination of B.Ed and B.Ed (Honours) under Pirganj Union Degree College has been declared cancelled.

The college’s role in the incident has been deemed highly suspicious.
Based on the allegations of question paper leak and irregularities, the college centre has been declared temporarily suspended.

All documents, including exam scripts, answer sheets, and attendance registers, have been seized and preserved for investigation.

A three-member inquiry committee has been formed under the direction of the BAU Vice-Chancellor to probe the incident.

After receiving the committee’s report, further administrative action will be taken against those found responsible.
