Ex-railway officer Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan dies

Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan, a former officer of Bangladesh Railway and the father of The Daily Prothom Alo Special Correspondent Selim Zahid, passed away on Tuesday. He was 92.

Bhuiyan, who had long been suffering from various complicated diseases, including prostate cancer, breathed his last around 11am at his residence in the city’s Uttar Dakshinkhan area, said his son Selim Zahid.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters, many grandchildren, and a host of relatives and well-wishers who mourn his death.
