Ex- president Hamid’s home attacked

Former President Md. Abdul Hamid’s home in Mithamoin haor upazila of Kishoreganj was attacked and vandalized on Monday.
The locals and Police sources, after the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) announced for ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in a case of crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising, while the joyous procession was moving from Mitamoin Bazarto towards kamalpur village, a group of 70/80 BNP activists entered the former President Hamid’s home and attacked, looting it.
Additional SP (Crime) Mahamudul Islam Talukder told the New Nation that a group of broke into the residence around 11 pm,damaging doors, furniture, windows and several pictures, award.
Adding, Police, Army personnel later visiting the spot, and security has been tighten.
There were no casualties as no relatives of Abdul Hamid were present in the house at the time.
Officer in Charge (OC) of Mitamoin Police Station, Alamgir Kabir confirmed the incident and said that the atta ck took place after a BNP joy rally.
