East West University (EWU) welcomed approximately 2,200 new students to its Aftabnagar campus through an elaborate Orientation Program held on 17 June 2025 for the Summer Semester.
Each academic department hosted tailored orientation sessions to help students navigate academic guidelines, course structures, faculty introductions, university regulations, and available support services.
The orientation was attended by key dignitaries including Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of EWU’s Board of Trustees and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank; Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shams Rahman; Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik; and Treasurer Air Commodore (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Chowdhury. Deans, department chairs, faculty members, and senior administrators were also present.
In their remarks, university leaders urged students to equip themselves with skills fit for the age of artificial intelligence and emphasized developing social responsibility and civic engagement.
To enhance student involvement beyond academics, EWU’s Department of Student Welfare organized a vibrant Club Fair. A total of 22 student-run clubs participated, setting up booths to showcase their activities in fields ranging from culture and technology to community service and leadership. The initiative encouraged freshers to participate in co-curricular opportunities alongside academic pursuits.
The orientation program marked a vibrant beginning to the new semester, blending academic preparedness with inspiration and a strong sense of community life.
