The official campaign for the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) Bangladesh 2025 was launched today at a vibrant Meet the Press event held at Daffodil Plaza, Dhanmondi.
The event was jointly organised by Daffodil International University and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh.
Presiding over the event, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh and Daffodil International University, described EWC as a gateway to transforming Bangladesh through innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Innovation will build the Bangladesh of the future. And the Entrepreneurship World Cup is the first step to realizing that dream,” he said.
Recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious startup pitch competitions, EWC offers participants a chance to win part of a global prize pool worth USD 3 million, along with mentorship and investment opportunities.
For the 2025 edition, startups from Bangladesh will compete in three categories: Idea Stage, Early Stage, and Growth Stage.
Speakers at the event emphasized EWC’s potential to empower the local startup ecosystem by linking Bangladeshi entrepreneurs with international investors, mentors, and tech leaders.
National hosts for EWC 2025 include GEN Bangladesh, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, KnowledgeVale, and the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University.
Global partners include Microsoft, NEOM, and Monshaat.
Notable attendees included Mr. Munir Hasan, Chief Coordinator of Digital Transformation and Youth Activities at Prothom Alo; Mr. Shawkat Hossain, CEO of Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd. (BVCL); Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family; and Mr. K M Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh.
Participants underscored the importance of awareness campaigns, seminars, and workshops across educational institutions to foster a vibrant startup culture among youth. The event concluded with a comprehensive briefing on the EWC 2025 registration process and participation guidelines.
