EVM gets huge acceptability in Chattogram-9 Seat

Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) on Sunday got huge acceptability among the voters of Chattogram-9 parliamentary constituency as the voters found this digital system easier than the traditional voting system.A large number of voters, including women and elderly persons, were seen standing in long queues to cast their votes through EVM at all polling centers in the constituency.
Talking to media men Presiding Officer of the Regional Public Administration Training Centre (RPATC) voting center Delwar Hossain said voters of the center expressed their satisfaction with the new system as it is an easy and time-saving process. Aminul Islam, a voter of the center, said the new system has taken a little time to cast his vote.
“I am happy with the new process as it took only 10 seconds for casting my vote,” he added. The Election Commission has taken votes using EVM at all polling booths in six constituencies for the first time. The constituencies’ are – Dhaka-6 and 13, Chattogram-9, Rangpur-3, Khulna-2 and Satkhira-2.
A total of 3,90,431 voters were scheduled to cast their votes at 920 polling booths of the 144 voting centers in Chattogram-9 constituency.
