The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Namzul Hasan Papon reminded the national cricket team that every point of the series against West Indies is important given the fact that the series is the part of ICC ODI Super League.
Bangladesh had already bagged the series by winning the first two matches of the three match series, making the third one a dead rubber.
But Papon said at this moment, no match is meaningless since a victory means, 10 points will be added.
“We had started our ICC ODI Super League mission with this series and gained so far 20 points by winning the first two matches,” Papon said on Saturday.
“The series ending third match is equally important because we will get 10 points if we win this match and these points are important to play the World Cup directly. We don’t want to play qualifier for qualifying the World Cup,” he added.
Introduced last year to add context to ODI cricket, the Super League sees each side play four home and four away three-match series.
