In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Evercare Hospital Dhaka has launched a free breast health checkup program to encourage women across the country to prioritize early detection and preventive care. The initiative will run from October 15 to October 31, every Saturday to Thursday between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, at the hospital’s Breast Clinic and Master Health Check Unit.

The program offers comprehensive breast health assessments completely free of charge, including physical examinations, consultations with oncology experts, risk evaluations, and personalized advice for follow-up care.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Ferdous Shahriar Sayed, Senior Consultant & Coordinator of Medical Oncology at Evercare Hospital Dhaka, said:
“Breast cancer is often diagnosed at a late stage, making treatment more complex. Regular self-examination and annual health checkups can save lives. Our goal is simple: raise awareness and encourage women to take timely action for their health.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Biswajit Bhattacharjee, Senior Consultant & Coordinator of Radiation Oncology, emphasized the importance of prioritizing self-care amid daily responsibilities.
“We want every woman to prioritize her own well-being. Family and work often come first, but staying healthy is the foundation of a strong family. Through this program, we aim to empower women to take charge of their health with confidence and care.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Arif Mahmud, Group Medical Director of Evercare Hospitals, Bangladesh, said that the hospital’s initiative reflects its commitment to women’s health and cancer prevention.
“Early detection can make all the difference in the fight against breast cancer.

This initiative is more than just a checkup it’s an opportunity for women to take proactive steps toward prevention. We’re committed to providing the highest quality care and supporting women on their journey to better health and well-being.”

According to hospital data, over 12,000 women in Bangladesh are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, with many seeking treatment only at advanced stages. Medical experts stress that awareness, regular screening, and early detection remain the most powerful tools in reducing mortality rates.
