Maizpara, Haildhar: Continuing his lifelong commitment to education and community development, school founder and philanthropist Aziz Ahmad has made another significant contribution to the Bir Mukhtizoddah Ayub Ahmad Master Memorial Institute.
Mr. Ahmad has contributed resources valued at Tk 1 crore, including computers, furniture, and part of a new building within the school boundary complex. This contribution has laid the foundation for the Professor Ahmad Hussain Memorial Library and Research Center, a modern facility designed to inspire learning, research, and community knowledge-sharing. The library is named in honor of Late Professor Ahmad Hussain, a distinguished educationist and former Director of the Islamic Academy (now Islamic Foundation). Professor Hussain made history as one of the earliest Bangladeshis to pursue graduate studies abroad, attending Columbia University in New York in 1953-1954 for a degree in Library Science, according to a press release.
Born in Maizpara para, Haildhar, Professor Hussain remains a source of pride and inspiration for the local community and the nation at large. His lifelong dedication to education and scholarship is now being carried forward through this memorial initiative. Speaking about the contribution, Aziz Ahmad expressed his deep gratitude:
“Professor Ahmad Hussain was a pioneer and a role model for our community. Through this library and research center, we honor his legacy and provide the next generation with access to knowledge, technology, and opportunities he dreamed of.”
Echoing this sentiment, the school’s Head Master, Chandhan Bhattacharjee, highlighted the vision of the founder:
“Our founder, Mr. Aziz Ahmad, has always believed that no child should be denied education for lack of means. With his family’s support, our school continues to provide tuition-free learning of the highest quality. The new Professor Ahmad Hussain Memorial Library and Research Center is a gift to our children and community – a place where dreams, knowledge, and inspiration come together.”
The establishment of the Professor Ahmad Hussain Memorial Library and Research Center not only preserves the memory of a revered educationist but also strengthens the mission of the Bir Mukhtizoddah Ayub Ahmad Master Memorial Institute to raise enlightened, empowered, and future-ready generations.
