The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued 16 instructions aiming to ensure emergency medical services in government hospitals during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
The instructions were issued in an office order signed by DGHS Director (Hospital and Clinics) Dr Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan on Tuesday, reports BSS.
The following instructions have been issued for the management of medical services in hospitals during the Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 holidays:
The presence of full-time doctors should be ensured by deputing additional doctors in the emergency department, if necessary.
The emergency department, labor room, emergency OT and lab should be kept open round the clock.
To ensure adequate manpower and medical services at the workplace, leave can be given to the manpower in phases by coordinating before and after Eid.
The head of the institution will grant leave by prioritizing uninterrupted emergency medical activities and public interest.
The Civil Surgeon can coordinate the most essential manpower within his district only during the Eid holiday by informing the Divisional Director.
The heads of the hospital’s internal departments will supervise their departmental activities every day. Emergency lab and X-ray services should be kept open round the clock in medical college hospitals, specialized hospitals, district sadar hospitals and upazila health complexes.
On-call services of specialist doctors should be kept open at the upazila level.
Before the beginning of the holiday, adequate medicines, IV fluids, chemical reagents and surgical materials should be stored and immediately supplied.
