The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday stated that it has gathered substantial evidence of corruption against ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, including the unlawful acquisition of wealth and misuse of power to obtain it.

ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhtar Hossain made the remarks while addressing journalists at the agency’s headquarters in Dhaka.

“We have obtained significant information about Sheikh Hasina’s corruption, particularly the abuse of power in acquiring 60 kathas of land in the RAJUK Purbachal project,” DG Akhtar said.

He added, “We are hopeful that we will soon be able to provide detailed information on the issue.”
Responding to a query, the DG stated, “Once all the necessary information is gathered, the ACC will decide whether to file a case or not. Our investigation team is diligently working to secure substantial evidence on the matter.”

“Investigations into various allegations of corruption against Sheikh Hasina are ongoing,” he continued. “Our team is collecting documents from different offices, and we have already gathered considerable information. We hope to share good news with you soon.”
