It is logical to base the category of companies listed on the capital market on the basis of capital size rather than dividend, said DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA).
DBA President Saiful Islam said during the discussion and exchange of views with the representatives of the top thirty brokerage houses held through the virtual medium on Tuesday about the recent capital market situation.
The representatives who participated in the discussion said that there is no significant reason for the deterioration of the capital market situation.
If the floor is removed from the share price, there is already some price adjustment. This is normal.
These top broker representatives indicated that the market will return to normal very soon.
However, in the future, in the overall interest of the market, the representatives have raised some demands, the implementation of which will bring positive changes to the market, and the market will be stable and sustainable in the long run.
Speakers said that the rumors in the market that the floor price may be imposed again on the share price are completely false and baseless. DBA does not think that there will be a recurrence of the floor price.
In addition to the modernizing and reforming requirements of the current Margin Rules (1999), good companies have to be listed on the IPO market.
Emphasis should be placed on mutual funds to reduce dependence on banks for investment. The negotiators said that the number of mutual funds should be increased.
They said that it is logical to categorize the company based on the capital size of the company rather than on the dividend.
Shares of any company cannot be increased in any other way without informing the common shareholders, sponsor shareholders, or any other shareholders.
DSE Director Sharif Anwar Hossain, Richard de Rosario, former DBA President Ahmad Rashid Lali, BLI Securities Managing Director minhaz mannan emon, and Beximco Securities CEO Mostafa Zamanul Bahar, among others, were present in the meeting.
