Television: Emon-Faria in tele-fiction based on Nazrul’s songs, Shila in drama ‘Aleya’

A drama and tele-fiction have been produced to mark the death anniversary of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Firoz Ahmed produced the drama ‘Aleya’ and Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar directed the tele-fiction ‘Priyo Emon Raat’.
‘Priyo Emon Raat’ is based on the song ‘Priyo Emono Raat Jeno Jay Na Britha’ by Kazi Nazrul Islam. The emotional longing of a lover is revealed in the story of this tele-fiction.
Written and directed by Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar. Mamun Hasan Emon and Sabnam Faria act as a pair in this film.
Director Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar said, “Beautiful stories can be found in many of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s songs.
I have tried to make a telefilm based on such a popular song. This is the first time that Emon and Sabnam Faria have paired up together and acted in a drama by Nazrul Islam. The work has been very good. I hope the audience will accept this pair.”
It also stars Tushar Khan, Sabiha Maliha Shokh, Anand, Shelly, etc. The telefilm ‘Priyo Emon Raat’ will be aired on Channel i on August 27 at 3:05pm. Meanwhile, Firoz Ahmed Dulal has produced a TV drama of the same name based on the drama ‘Aleya’ written by Kazi Nazrul Islam for broadcast on BTV. ‘Aleya’ is the second play written by Kazi Nazrul Islam.
It was staged and published in 1931. It was written under the title ‘Marutrisha’ but later the name was changed to ‘Aleya’. The main theme of this play is a love triangle and its consequences.
Although its content is similar to Rabindranath Tagore’s play ‘Mayar Khela’, Nazrul Islam has made it unique with the complexity of the story and the intense pace of the play.
Shiwly Shila has acted in the role of ‘Kakli’ in the drama ‘Aleya’.
She said, “Since childhood, I have had the opportunity to read poems and stories written by the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. That continuity continues even now. I feel very happy that I was able to act in a play written by Kazi Nazrul Islam.”
