Members of the elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-8) have arrested eight members of a robbery gang, including the mastermind Abdul Hakim.
The arrests were made while the gang was preparing for a robbery and were found in possession of a large quantity of indigenous weapons, toy pistols, and other robbery equipment.
Commander Arafat Islam of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing provided this information at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
According to RAB sources, RAB-8 members raided a house in the Maheshpur area of Bakerganj based on secret information, arresting three people. Subsequently, based on information obtained from these individuals, five more people were arrested with the help of RAB-10 at the Dhaleshwari Toll Plaza in South Keraniganj, Dhaka.
The arrested individuals have been identified asAbdul Hakim** (Mastermind) from Maheshpur area, Shaon Islam Sohag** (Close associate) from Bakerganj, Nizam Chowkidar, Nasir Howladar, Kalam Hossain from Patuakhali Sadar, Abdur Rahim Howladar from Rangabali, Raja Khalifa from Kaunia area of Barishal and Salim Matubbar from Amtali area of Barguna RAB officials stated that there are several cases against the arrested individuals, and legal action is currently under process.
