Eid-ul-Fitr observed in dists with enthusiasm

BOGRA: The main Eid congregation was held at Bogra Sutrapur Central Eidgah Maidan on Saturday.

Eid -ul- Fitr was observed in Barisal peacefully on Saturday.
The main Eid Jamat in Barisal city held at well decorated Hemayet Uddin Central Eidgah Maidan at 8-30 am.
Ahsan Habib Kamal, BNP backed BCC Mayor, Adv Mojibor Rahman Sarwar, Central Organising Secretary , city president of BNP, Saidur Rahman Rintu, AL backed Sadar upazila parishad Chairman and president Barisal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Adv Afzalul Karin, city AL secretary, Md. Gaus, Divisional Commissioner , Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Deputy Commissioner and other socio-political-cultural personalities, high-ranking government officials as well as general mass and female worshippers participated in this prayer.
Double Eid Jamats arranged in the city centers at Zame Ebaedullah mosque, Zame Kasai mosque, Baitul Mokarram Mosque, Police Line, Mahmudia Madrasa, Sagordi Madrasa between 8:00 – 10:30 am. More than 200 Eid Jamats held this year all over the Barisal metropolitan city area on Saturday between 8 to 8-30 AM on Eid-day.
Except the main Eid Jamats of the city, other large Eid-prayers of the region was held at Guthia Baitul Aman Mosque, Charmonai Darbar Sharif under Barisal, Hadua Darbar Sharif, Nesarabad Darbar Sharif under Jhalakathi, Sharshina Darbar Sharif under Pirojpur, Mirzaganj Mazar Sharif under Patuakhali and Mokamia Madrasha ground under Barguna districts between 8:00-9:30 am and many small Eid Jamat also arranged at almost all local mosques.
Bagerhat Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslim community, was celebrated in Bagerhat district town and its all the nine upazilas on Saturday with due solemnity and religious fervour as else where of the country. The day’s programme started with the offering of Eid prayers by thousand of people in the mosques and Eidgahs in the district. The biggest Eid congregation of the district was held in the historic Saitgubaz mosque of great saint Hazrat Peer Khaja Khan Jhan Ali (peace be on him), 7 kilometers away from here. The congregation was also held in Bagerhat central (Old Court mosque), Mithapukur mosque.Haji Arif mosque, Nagerbazar mosque, Railway mosque Falpatty mosque of the district town. After the congregation prayers were offered for divine blessings for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The Muslims celebrated their greatest religious festival of holy Eid-ul-Fitr amid huge enthusiasm, religious fervour, gaiety, rituals and solemnity everywhere in Rangpur division on Saturday.
Thousands of the musollis attired in traditional Eid dresses participated in the Eid-ul-Fitr congregations held at the Eidgahs, mosques, fields, open places and grounds in the cities, district and upazila towns and rural areas.
The law enforcement agencies, including police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13, took adequate measures to ensure peaceful holding of Eid jamaats in festive atmosphere in all eight districts in the division.
The important government buildings and mosques were illuminated and the main streets decorated with various colourful flags bearing inscriptions ‘Eid Mubarak’ giving charming looks all around in the cities and towns.
Improved diets were served among inmates of different hospitals, jails,shishu paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres allover the division.
In Rangpur district, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were held on over 1,000 Eidgah grounds, mosques and other places under all eight upazilas.
In the divisional city, Rangpur City Corporation with assistance of the district and police administrations and other authorities arranged 73 Eid jamaats in all 33 wards of the city amid tight security measures. The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the Central Collectorate Eidgah at 8:30 am with the participations of thousands of musollis, including high officials, political leaders and dignitaries of the city.
City Mayor and valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, senior Awami League leaders, Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Dilwar Bakht, Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar, officials, public representatives, professionals and elite participated in the main congregation.
Like in the previous years, the biggest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan under Gangachara upazila where State Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga MP offered Eid prayers.

In the Saturday’s morning, the Eid Day, streams of people rushed to the nearest eidgahs, mosques and open places to offer their Eid prayers braving the inclement weather.
Thousands of musallis at the end of Eid jamaats (congregations) offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah. The main Eid jamaat was held at Hazrat Shah Mukhdum ® Central Eidgah
Moidan at 8.30 am and Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali led the prayer. The second and third largest ones were held at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point and Tikapara Eidgah at the same time.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, senior divisional and district level officials and local elites including Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Helaluddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury offered their Eid prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
Besides, some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Hatemkha,
Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Tikapara Eidgah, Mohisbathan Eidgah math, Upashahar Eidgah Moidan,RUET campus and Rajshahi University campus. Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) decorated the city’s important points and road islands with national and colourful flags inscribed with “Eid Mubarak”both in Bangla and Arabic.
In addition to the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, the district, upazila and police administrations took adequate security measures to celebrate the festival in a peaceful way.

Thousands of people, especially children, poured in and around the city’s parks, historic places and other recreation centres including the bank of the river Padma to enjoy the Eid-ul-Fitr. Zia Shishu Park, Captain Monsur Ali Park and Central Park and Zoo drew huge crowd.
Children, young boys and girls wearing colourful dresses gathered these places where small makeshift shops were set up to sell different homemade foods and toys.
Eid gatherings of children and cultural functions were also held at different areas in the city.
Similar reports of Eid celebrations were received here from the districts of Chapainawabganj, Natore, Naogaon, Bogra, Joypurhat, Sirajganj and Pabna in Rajshahi division.
