‘Efforts on to collect genocide evidence’

International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) chief prosecutor Advocate Md Tajul Islam today said efforts are on to collect evidence of genocides those have been allegedly committed by past Awami League government while attempting to quell the recent anti-discrimination student movement.

“The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal is sending letters to all the media outlets, public and private hospitals, civil surgeon offices, deputy commissioners and superintendents of police, seeking evidence of alleged genocides,” he said while briefing media at the ICT, reports BSS.

The chief prosecutor said they have started visiting hospitals for information and evidence of genocides and the process will continue. He urged all authorities concerned to provide the information and evidence of alleged genocides those took place in July and August. “We are even sending letters to the authorities of large graveyards.

The main witnesses of this movement were the students. We will exchange views exchange with the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement,” Tajul added.
