Three monitoring teams of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, along with law enforcement agencies, carried out a special drive today to enforce the ban on single-use plastics (SUP) at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The drive began at around 9:00 am at gates-2 and 5 of the secretariat, say a press release.
During the drive, any banned polythene or SUP items found with officials, employees, or visitors entering the secretariat were confiscated.
As an alternative, eco-friendly fabric bags were distributed among them. At the same time, strict instructions were issued not to carry SUP inside the secretariat in future, reports BSS.
