Our commission only objectives to act without any biasness, colorless, transparent vessel, ensuring neutrality and fairness in all its activities, said Election Commissioner (EC) Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah.
Addressing officials at a meeting on voter list updates on Monday morning in Debiganj Upazila Parishad Hall in Panchagarh, he stated, “Those of you involved in the election process must also act as a colorless, transparent vessel.
While we live in a society and may have relatives with diverse opinions, these connections must not influence our professional responsibilities.”
The commissioner announced that the voter list update process is underway, involving door-to-door visits to ensure accuracy.
He highlighted the elimination of fake voters, deceased individuals, foreign nationals, and duplicate entries as priorities for the new voter list.
“Our goal is to conduct a fair, credible, and unquestionable election. For that, developing a transparent and accurate voter list is of utmost importance,” he added.
The event, moderated by Upazila Election Officer AhsanHabib, was attended by several notable officials, including Regional Election Officer (Rangpur) Azizul Islam, District Election Officer Enamul Haque, Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan, local administrative officers, union parishad chairmen, new voters, and media representatives.
The Election Commission’s commitment to neutrality and transparency comes as it prepares for the next national election, with a focus on ensuring an inclusive and trustworthy electoral process.
